——————————————————————————————————————–

Hiroe has decided to exhibit not only her recent work but also significant works from her private collection, which until now were, ‘hard to part with’.

After 56 years of creating Art, teaching, and sharing her knowledge in Australia, Hiroe reluctantly decided in 2024 that… ‘ My life as a ceramicist has come to an end; my aging hands and fingers no longer function properly. Unfortunately, this is my final Exhibition.’

An Exhibition catalogue (in print), which includes additional pages of Hiroe’s fascinating life story, writings by renowned artists and colleagues Alan Watt and Paul Davis, and critical technical details and information on her ceramic works, will also be available to purchase from Skepsi Gallery. It would be the most updated book about Hiroe Swen, looking back on her 56-year ceramic artist career as one of the most celebrated Australian ceramic artists.

In addition, a number of Dye paintings by Hiroe’s late husband, Cornel Swen, will be included in the Exhibition.

* In person – March 29 – April 5 at the Malvern Artists’ Society Gallery, 1297 High Street Malvern (please see details below).

* Via the Online catalogue – from March 19 to April 30.
